Introduction
The lab of Tunnelling technology is one of the laboratories operating in the School of Mining and Metallurgy. It was established in 2003 and since then it is has been involved in both teaching and research activities.
The purpose of the laboratory is:
- To teach students the subjects of Tunnelling techniques, Rock mechanics and Underground Support both in theory and in practise using the available software and equipment.
- Provide the students the necessary resources to complete their assignments and theses.
- To carry out research either undertaking research programs or using private funds, on the scientific areas of the lab.
